2026 Competitive Season Information (10/21/25)

Dear Athletes, Parents and Coaches:

As we lead into the new competitive season, I wanted to update you on some information that I know many of you will want and much of what I will need.

This email is directed specifically to athletes who are age eligible for Level 6 Future Stars and Levels 7-10 athletes.  Most clubs have not updated their athletes’ levels yet, so Coaches, if I missed someone, please share this with the athletes and their parents whom this email pertains to and check in with the parents whose athlete this email affects to make sure they received it and it didn’t go to a SPAM folder.  Parents – if your athlete does not fall into these level parameters for 2026 or is no longer competing, please disregard this communication.

GK Elite Apparel Sizing Form: for Level 6 Future Star competitive athletes (born 2014-2016) and Levels 7-10 athletes

In 2026, athletes who qualify to Development National Championships will receive a complimentary warm-up, competition top, competition pants, competition shorts, and competition socks.  Athletes who qualify to Eastern or Western National Championships will receive a complimentary warm-up.

I need to have all of the athletes’ sizing information entered BEFORE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.  I did not want to put out two sizing forms for the respective events, so there is only one e-form to collect sizing information for all.

Below, please find the link to the e-form to provide your athlete’s sizes:

2026 Academic Achievement Award: Grade 9-12 athletes only

Formerly the Academic All-American Recognition Award, this award is now called the Academic Achievement Award.  This recognition award is to recognize athletes who work just as hard in the classroom as they do in the gym.  Info and new for 2026:

  • I am using Microsoft Forms for the AAA application submissions this year.
  • GPA Confirmation forms will no longer be automatically emailed to the applicant.  Applicants will have to download/print a hard copy that I have posted on our website and take to their school for completion.
  • There is a $20 administrative fee for the award and checks will no longer be accepted.  Applicants/parents will be notified via email when complete packet is received, reviewed, and approved.
  • Application will go live by January 1, 2026.
  • Any packets received after March 1, will NOT be included in the Regional Championships recognition, but could possibly be included in the online posting and the report provided to NCAA/GymAct coaches.

Please visit the Academic Achievement Award website for more information: https://usagym.org/men/awards/academic-achievement/

NCAA Release of Information: Grade 9-12 athletes only

Each year, I provide a very detailed report to NCAA and GymAct coaches to utilize for recruiting purposes.  If you would like your son to be included in this report, I have to have a NCAA Release of Information e-form completed.  Again, I am using Microsoft Forms for this e-form in 2026.  The link can be found on our forms page: https://usagym.org/men/forms/.  Below, I have included link that goes straight to the form: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=tsdG2kR_OkyBTuWoxa1Dv4DHFmJf-E5EnPHQicjWXmtUMjBEVlRPNlYxVUJCUTc3WVpCS1dHM1c1RS4u

Safe Sport Course: for athletes turning 18 in 2026

Athletes 18 and older must complete the U110 Safe Sport course annually.  I encourage parents who have an athlete turning 18 between January 1 and May 10, 2026, to please give their son permission to complete the course between now and December 31, so that they do not have to stop and take the course during the competitive season and so that I do not have reach out to coaches and athletes to get it completed before going to State, Regional, or Nationals. Note that your athlete must have his own email address in his profile.  If you need assistance in updating this, you can email Member Services at membership@usagym.org or call them at 800-345-4719, and one the Membership team members can help get that into your son’s profile as well as creating a specific login into their membership account.  Parents’ login should continue to work for them to conduct future membership business.  Below, please find a link to a “How To” document that will tell parents how to give their athlete permission to take the course at 17: https://static.usagym.org/PDFs/Member%20Services/howto_parent.pdf
