VA State Meet – Time Sensitive Information

Hello Team Virginia,

Please take care of this immediately, concerning our State Championships.

All clubs will be registered into the 2021 VA State Championships.  This is to ensure proper allotment numbers for Nationals.  This must be done by February 28th.  Kevin Hallinan, State Chairman, will register all teams, but you may register as well.

If you are not participating, please unregister ASAP.  Again, you will be registered by yourselves or by the state chairman, whichever happens first.  You must physically remove your team from the state meet if you are not participating.

There is no information regarding any regional championship, live or virtual at this time.  There is no information regarding a national championship, other than a date May 13-16, and location, Daytona Beach, FL.

The entry fee for the Virginia State Championships is $30 per athlete – there will be no assessments this year. The State Championships will be held via video upload at the website, Fantasy Gym League, and judged by Metro Judges. Fantasy Gym League is giving each State Meet participant an account for free. DO NOT PURCHASE FANTASY GYM LEAGUE SUBSCRIPTION.

If you are participating in the Virginia State Championships, you must register with the Fantasy Gym League by March 15th, 2021.  Please do so ASAP.  Go to fantasygymleague.com for registration and video tutorials.  Gyms must register first, followed by parents, and then athletes.  Please contact Dan Young at dan_young5@comcast.net, or Kevin Hallinan (who will forward your email to Dan) at kevnastics@gmail.com.

Coaches can upload videos on behalf of their athletes. Athletes with emails and an account can directly upload their videos themselves.

Once your gym and athletes are registered and synced with Fantasy Gym League you can upload videos.

Videos of routines can be taken starting March 1st and you will have from March 15-21st to submit videos.  That’s enough time to register with the FGL and figure out how to do it.  It sounds really complicated, but it is very user friendly.

Gymstrada has used the FGL format for months and very few families found it challenging to register.  Just an example to help allay anxieties.

We are not ranking athletes or teams.  This is an honorary championship and will also act as a qualifier for those interested in participating in a post-season, should there be one. Participants will receive a gift from the State for their efforts and dedication to the sport.

STATE MEET ENTRY STEPS:

  1. All clubs will be registered for State Championships by the club or State Chairman in USAG’s Meet Registration System (MRS), whichever happens first.
  2. You must physically unregister from the State meet in MRSif you aren’t participating.
  3. Mail $30 entry fee per athlete to Virginia Mens Gymnastics, ℅ Cindy Walker, 144-A Tewning Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188. Due March 15, 2021.3
  4. Register your gym at fantasygymleague.com no later than March 15, 2021.
  5. One parent per household of those participating must register at FGL and then register their child.
  6. The gym must sync the account with parent and athlete (I think syncing with parent immediately syncs account with child)
  7. Take videos between March 1st and March 21st (dates are tentative, but not by more than a day or two at the end)
  8. Submit videos March 15-21.
  9. No late videos accepted under any circumstances

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and help.

Sincerely,

Kevin Hallinan

State Chairman

VA Board of Directors.
