Hello Team Virginia!
Here is the tentative schedule for the 2020 Virginia State Championships based on the number of athletes per level as registered in the USAG system. The schedule may change if there is a large discrepancy based on registrations for levels different than your athletes appear in the USAG system. Times will be available shortly after registration closes in mid February.
Friday Night Session:
- JE Technical Sequences, Level 7 D1 and D2
Saturday:
- Session One: Level 8,9, JD D1
- Session Two: JD D2
- Session Three: Level 10
Mandatory State Meeting for all coaches (must have at least 1 representative from each gym present) in between sessions Two and Three. Please email Kevin if you have any any questions or concerns that need to be addressed at the state meeting
Sunday:
- Session One: Level 5 D1
- Session Two: Level 5 D2
- Session Six: Level 6 D1 and D2
We would also like to congratulate Virginia Athletes and Coach, Zachary Patrick, Ahmir Postell, and our State Chairman, Kevin Hallinan. Zachary and Ahmir were selected by our Regional Chairman and Region 7’s JNS Representative as part of Region 7’s six-man team for the Elite Team Cup. Kevin was named Head Coach of the Region 7 Delegation.
Elite Team Cup is a Regional Team Competition. Each of the 9 Regions put up a six man team; five up per event, four scores count per event for the team total. Region 7’s team is picked based on scores submitted to Rich Pulsfort from November, December, and Early-Mid January meets and performances from the Elite Team Invite Camp that was held in October at Williamsburg Gymnastics.
Region 7’s Elite Team Cup Team: Zachary Patrick and Ahmir Postell from Gymstrada; Alec Kuzmenchek from Paragon MD; Khoi Young from Sportsplex; Joshua Karnes from Lakers; Collin Cunane from KMC (recently injured and will not compete); Noah Dhaliwal from Surgent’s as alternate, replacing Collin.
Elite Team Cup will take place during the Junior Session of the Winter Cup Challenge on February 20th and will be live streamed. Please check usagym.org for event information.
